Rest Posture – Two Elastic Hold

Place elastic on top tip of tongue, hold the point tongue to the spot lips closed, teeth at rest. Suction rest of tongue to palate, Swallow saliva without movement of the elastics. Hold for 10min, 15 min, 20 min until you get up to 30 min. Enhances: Transversus/Superior Longitudinal/Tongue tonicity and posture/Lingual-palatal suction.

Rest Posture – Paper Hold

Fold Post-it note in half twice lengthwise, Place open end between lips on dry line to allow for tension, Breathe through nose, Swallow with tip to spot, Remain in posture for 10, 20, 45 or 60 minutes. Enhances: Lip seal/Nasal Breathing/Resting position of jaw.

Rest Posture – Three Ring Circus

Place elastics on top tip of tongue, Hold the point tongue to the spot, Lips closed, teeth at rest, Suction rest of tongue to palate, Swallow saliva without movement of the elastics. Alternative/Modification: Try one or two first. Enhances: Transversus/Superior Longitudinal/Tongue tonicity and posture/Lingual/palatal suction.

Rest Posture – Tongue Swings

Open mouth wide. Trace with tip of the tongue along the lingual side of maxillary teeth creating an invisible fence for the tongue to stay within. Enhances: Lingual/palatal posture.
